New toilet charges in South Yorkshire train stations – is it time to use portable toilet hire in Sheffield?

Passengers who need to use the public toilets in Sheffield and Barnsley Interchanges now have to pay 20p per visit.

South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive, which runs the two bus stations, has decided to install turnstiles and charge each time they are used in order to ‘maintain high standards of service’.

Gilly Greensitt, SYPTE external relations manager, said: “It’s with reluctance we are introducing the charge, but, given pressures on funding, we feel we can’t maintain a high standard of service without charging to use the toilets. We introduced turnstiles at Rotherham Interchange last year. These have operated with few complaints from customers.”

People who use the stations are said to be unhappy  with this extra charge – maybe it is time to use portable toilet hire Sheffield?

The new turnstiles will be installed and operational in Sheffield by Friday, April 27, and in Barnsley on Wednesday, May 2.

Portable toilet hire in Peterborough school required to prevent long term closure

Pupils at a Peterborough school had a longer than expected Easter break after a problem with their toilets, forcing the school to close for an additional day.

Newborough School managed to warn parents of the delay to the start of the term before Tuesday and there were no reported complaints. The school could have benefited from portable toilet hire, allowing the school to open as planned.

Antony Innes, spokesman for Anglian Water, apologised for the delayed start to the school term. “We are sorry for the inconvenience and disruption which has been caused following the closure of the school. This has happened because of a serious blockage at a sewage pumping station on the school grounds stopping the pumps from operating.”

Ten thousand temporary toilets needed for Olympics – portable toilet hire in the UK does still have capacity to supply

It has been revealed by the London Olympic organisers that some last minute plans are still coming together before the event.

Yesterday marked 100 days until the games officially start and, though most is all set for the opening, last minute preparations are being pulled together.

One of the main things is the need for 10,000 toilets to be installed across the city – it seems that the country’s portable toilet hire supply is able to fulfil this huge last minute requirement.

Church blocks hire of portable toilets

A Church of England judge has dismissed a protest and paved the way for new toilet facilities to be built at St. Saviour’s church in Staffordshire.

Three parishioners had objected to the proposal, claiming it would “spoil” the Grade II listed building

However, Judge Sybil Thomas, Deputy Chancellor of the Diocese of Lichfield, rejected the objections and after a hearing at the Church of England’s Consistory Court gave permission for the work to be carried out.

The protesters argued that toilet hire could meet the need for toilet facilities, but the judge blocked the hire of portable toilets.

Judge Sybil Thomas said: “I am satisfied that the proven necessity is such as to outweigh the adverse effect.”

She said the proposals had been supported by the Victorian Society and English Heritage, with £50,000 being raised for the project already.

Demand from 2012 Olympics is creating cheaper event toilet hire

It has been revealed that the Olympics are actually aiding the toilet hire industry rather than exhausting its resources.

Many have claimed that the use of cheaper event toilet hire during the Olympics will effect the service for everyone else – even causing festivals to be cancelled, including Glastonbury Festival.

However, James Bulley, Director of Venues and Infrastructure at London 2012, has denied this, claiming that they have gone to a cabin supplier themselves to build brand new toilet blocks.  Bulley also said that the toilets created with go back into the relevant industries.

When asked if their use of toilet hire is directly affecting Glastonbury Festival, Bulley said: “No – in fact we’ve gone to a cabin supplier who are building a lot of new cabin toilets especially for us.

“After the Games, this new stock will then go back into the events industry or onto construction sites. So contrary to what most people think, we haven’t exhausted the world’s supply of toilets!”
